Mulhearn has provided nutrition therapy services to Fairfield County residents through Cucumber & Chamomile for the past two years. She looks forward to continuing these services in her new space and incorporating the custom loose tea blends.

The location was previously home to Sweet Pierre’s.

“I will be continuing the chocolate tradition, offering a healthy, decadent line of small-batch chocolate,” Mulhearn said. “Everyone keeps asking if there will still be chocolate, and everyone who has tried the samples loves it.

“To our loyal customers, not to worry - we’ll be continuing all of our nutrition services in the new space, as well as educating clients on the many benefits of herbal tea,” she added. “I’m pleased to announce that we’ll be working in conjunction with Ridgefield resident and aromatherapist Pippa Martin, who has extensive knowledge of herbalism. In addition, this will be a place for people to disconnect, enjoy a ‘quiet zone’ to escape from the stresses of every day so they can take time for themselves and sip a cup of tea by the window.”

All of the Apothecary Line will be blended in-house for each customer while they wait, giving Cucumber & Chamomile the ability to accommodate special needs and personal preferences.

Some of the custom blends offered will include a digestive blend called Zen Digestion, a spring green tea and herbal blend, an Immune-Enhancing Blend containing Echinacea, and a detoxifying blend, which supports healthy liver function. Unlike standard medical interventions, tea is not intended as a medical treatment, but to harness the power of herbs to enhance the body’s innate power to heal itself.

Store hours will be determined after the soft opening in April and will include Tea Tasting Thursdays and High Tea.

Cucumber & Chamomile is inspired by the quote from Hippocrates, “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.”
