Roy C. Conley

Roy C. Conley, age 87, of Richmond, died Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at Reid Hospital.

Born February 3, 1928, in Middletown, Ohio, to Wardie Buck and Lucy Martin Conley, he lived most of his life in this area. Roy served in the United States Army and retired as a machinist from ALCOA, where he was a member of the 25 Year Club. He is a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and had been a member of CMA Motorcycle Club and Motorcycles for Jesus. Roy was also involved in jail ministry in Richmond.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth L. Stringfield Conley; daughter, Sue Shank of Gordon, Ohio; son, Danny Clay Conley (Kathryn Beatty) of Richmond; step-daughters, Roberta Fuller of Webster City, Iowa, and Pamela Wicks of Richmond; step-son, Daniel Eugene Silcott of Richmond; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Roy Glen Conley; parents; brothers; and sisters.

Visitation for Roy C. Conley will be from 12 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 2015, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will follow 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 2015, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor Curt Nies officiating. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery with military honors provided by the Wayne County Honor Guard.
