Prime Minister Modi addressed a rally in Mathura's Chandrabhan village, the birthplace of Jan Sangh ideologue Deen Dayal Upadhyay. The rally was the first of the ruling dispensation's 200 rallies to mark the first anniversary of the NDA government at the Centre.

In an interesting inflection of his iconic 'achche din' slogan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday chose his mega rally at Mathura to attack the ten years of the Congress-led UPA government, saying one shudders to think what might have happened had they ruled for one more year.

- During the last elections, I had said that if I had my way I would end one law every day. In the coming days, 1300 laws will be abolished.

- I'm not pradhan mantri, I'm pradhan santri, says PM Modi.

- We introduced the process of self attestation, according to which a citizen says, 'I honestly say these are my documents'.

- Earlier citizens of the nation had to get the photocopy of their documents signed by an MLA - why? Is the citizen of my nation is not truthful?

- Have thought of soil health cards for farmers, through this initiative the farmer will know about the condition of his land.

- Issue of farmers' suicide must not be politicized, we must look into why farmers are unhappy after 60 years of our Independence.

- More than 12 crore people get gas subsidy benefits directly in their bank accounts.

- We opened bank accounts for the poor. The poor were not given the opportunity to enter banks for so many years.

- Some people are screaming because for 60 years their voices were heard in the power circles of Delhi. But there is no place for power brokers in Delhi now.

- Last year the issue was coal scams, this year it is about auctions and money that has been raised for the state.

- No report of any corruption, scam in this year.
