Deals Rumor Mill: Reynolds American, Time Warner, Uber

By Benjamin Horney (May 22, 2015, 6:03 PM EDT) -- The proposed $27.4 billion tie-up between Camel cigarettes maker Reynolds American Inc. and rival Lorillard Inc., maker of Newport cigarettes, will likely receive antitrust clearance as early as next week, The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday. The deal, first announced last July, has been extensively scrutinized by the Federal Trade Commission, due to concerns it could limit competition. However, according to Friday's report, the two companies and the FTC have agreed on conditions that will ease the agency's concerns enough to allow the deal. No details on the conditions were disclosed....
