BlackBerry Classic News, Update: Classic Smartphone to Offer A 'Blast from the Past'

The BlackBerry Classic was finally announced in the BlackBerry website on Tuesday and it looks like they're bringing back the good old times when functionality, design, and sturdiness are the things that matters most in a phone.

"Innovation is a word that gets used too often and carelessly. Innovation is not about blowing up what works to make something new – it's about taking what works and making it better," chief executive of BlackBerry Limited, John Chen, wrote in his blog. "In that sense, BlackBerry Classic represents the kind of innovation BlackBerry – and you – strive toward every day."

"The things you remember about BlackBerry that made you better are better than ever with BlackBerry Classic," he went on to say in INSIDE BlackBerry.

As for what to expect, Chen maintained that it bears the same "classic" BlackBerry features of "top row of navigation keys and a trackpad."

"Of course, we've made quite a few enhancements around the edges and on the inside. The screen is bigger and sharper. Our application catalogue is growing. The BlackBerry 10 operating system incorporates all the best productivity and collaboration features on any mobile device, including the BlackBerry Hub and our all-new BlackBerry Blend," the company head added.

CNN meanwhile mentioned in their report that though BlackBerry emphasized "shifting focus away from its poor-selling devices," the Canada-based tech company still have their grasp on a "passionate, core group of customers" who love their "CrackBerries." These groups include a "very vocal supporter," Kim Kardashian.

Kim Kardashian was reported to have owned multiple BlackBerries that she puts in her bag in case one of it breaks or "the company goes extinct."

As for the particular details about the BlackBerry Classic, Chen further wrote that they will be sharing more of it "in the coming weeks."
