Ricardo Arjona won a Grammy in 2006 for the disc "Adentro."

Ricardo Arjona, a singer-songwriter with a penchant for socially conscious material, will bring his latest tour to the Comerica Theatre in Phoenix on Saturday, March 14.

The troubadour, who was born in Guatemala but has been based in Mexico City for several years, scored his international breakthrough in 1993 with the disc "Animal Nocturno." That album produced the infectious "Mujeres" and the gooey love ballad "Primera Vez," both Top 10 hits in the States.

Later material grew more lyrically and musically adventurous, as Arjona has flirted with various genres through his career, including Cuban-based sounds, merengue and regional Mexican flavors. He has collaborated with such disparate names as Mijares, Paquita la del Barrio, Chenoa and Intocable. Along the way, he has collected a Grammy, a Latin Grammy and five albums that have reached No. 1 on the Billboard Latin album chart, including this year's "Viaje."

Tickets, which range from $56-$126, will go on sale at noon Friday, Oct. 17, through ticketmaster.com and 602-379-2800.
