Why you want to work there
This Madison, N.J.-based clinical laboratory, which provides diagnostic services to physicians and patients around the clock, offers its workers a nationwide health initiative, known as HealthQuest. The program creates a healthier workforce through health, wellness and fitness initiatives, such as tobacco cessation, stress and weight management, and fitness programs. It also promotes better eating habits through nutritional audits and education. Employees and their spouses or domestic partners are invited to participate in the initiative free of charge, and the participating employee receives a $10-per-pay reduction to his medical benefits contribution. Over the past two years, the company has offered colorectal cancer screenings for individuals who are at risk based on ethnicity and age. Quest Diagnostics provides lab work for all regular full-time employees, spouses, domestic partners and children. Its Time Off With Pay plan gives employees the opportunity to manage their own time off for situations such as vacations, personal and family needs, bereavement and illness. This benefit works like a bank account, with time earned and deposited into the bank each pay period and deducted from the bank after it is used. Paid-time-off allowances are also provided to employees for bereavement, military duty, jury duty and base holidays. IT employees are also allowed to work flexible schedules and telecommute.
