Cope Middle School’s drama department will present “The Book Club” at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the school’s multipurpose room, 1000 W. Cypress Ave., Redlands.

The play features Robyn Mortensen, Ailinh Nguyen and Gavin Garland as three friends who accidentally bring their book characters to life.

Jared Laing, Ryan Wilson and Juliet Ingram play the book characters — Dracula, Romeo and Annie Oakley. Jamie Casillas plays Mrs. Bookman, the mother of one of the book club friends.

Sophia Ingram plays Mrs. Jones, their school teacher. Veselka Zelemenova, Senna Omar and Faith Wiggins play three girls in the class.

Backstage crew members are Nicole Richmond, stage manager; Gillian Laing and Zac Witham. Jack Currier and Alayna Andrews are the makeup crew.

Zac Witham, Chloe Romo, Mady Christenson, Ines Cross and Bonnie Hong designed and painted the set pieces.

Cope and Redlands High School alumni Henry Borkgren and Fuaad Khan returned for the second year to assist with performance advice. Borkgren also wrote the play.

Admission is $1, and concessions will be available. Doors open at 6 p.m.
