Winter weather prompts delays, cancellations for area schools, organizations (UPDATED)

Winter weather is prompting delays and cancellations across the South Plains.

Levelland ISD will have a 10 a.m. start.

Lubbock ISD will have a 2-hour delay Thursday morning. Buses will run two hours later than normally scheduled.

Frenship ISD will have a 2-hour delay Thursday morning. Buses will drive routes on pavement only 2 hours later than scheduled. Faculty and staff are asked to report to their campus as quickly and safely as possible.

Lubbock-Cooper ISD will have a 2-hour delay Thursday morning. Buses will run on pavement only, also on a two-hour delay.

Plainview ISD will have a 2-hour delay Thursday morning. Buses will run on pavement only.

Slaton ISD will have a 10 a.m. start on Thursday, March 5th. Buses will run two hours later than normal. Buffalo Springs and Ransom Canyon students meet at the top of hill. Staff should arrive as soon as safely possible.

All Saints Episcopal School will start classes at 9:45 a.m. Thursday.

Elite Learning Academy will open at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, unless Lubbock ISD cancels classes, in which case Elite will close as well.

Texas Tech classes before 11 a.m.are canceled Bus service begins at 10 a.m.

Lubbock Christian University classes before 9:30 a.m. are canceled.

Several flights have been canceled or delayed at Lubbock Preston Smith Airport

Lubbock County offices will open at 10 a.m. Thursday.

Due to inclement weather and poor driving conditions DPS offices in the following Region 5 Counties will be delayed in opening Thursday morning until 10:00AM: Area 5A: Lubbock, Terry, Lynn, Floyd, Garza, Crosby, Dickens, Archer, Baylor, Clay, Cottle, Hardeman, Jack, Montague, Wichita, Wilbarger, & Young Area 5B: Oldham, Deaf Smith, Parmer, Potter, Randall, Swisher, Castro, Carson, Armstrong, Briscoe, Gray, Donley, Hall, Hemphill, Wheeler, Collingsworth & Childress Area 5C: Taylor, Callahan, Jones, Eastland, Stephens, Brown, Comanche, Coleman, Nolan, Fisher, Mitchell, Scurry, Haskell, Stonewall, Knox, Runnels & Throckmorton

The Kotsanis Institute will be closed all day Thursday.

Municipal Court closed at 3 p.m. Wednesday. All deadlines set for Wednesday have been moved to Thursday.

Covenant Lifestyle Center will have no morning group exercise classes, but will open regular hours Thursday.

UMC Activities Center will open at 10 a.m. Thursday.
