Stephen Virostek, who headed investor relations at Computer Sciences Corp. during the past three years, has joined Diebold as VP-IR. He reports to John Kristoff, VP-chief communications officer.
Prior to CSC, the 15-year PR veteran handled IR duties at Sprint Nextel Corp.
Kristoff said Virostek's background in technology companies "undergoing significant transformation make him a natural fit for Diebold."
The North Canton, Ohio-based company in March acquired Phoenix Interactive Design, a top software company for automated teller machines, to accelerate its re-positioning as a "service-led software enabled company."
Ontario-based Phoenix provides automated systems to financial institutions such as TD Canada Trust, National Australia Bank Group and Fifth Third Bank.
