The company is moving to meet new loading and unloading needs.

Coca-Cola is moving its local bottling operation and distribution facility from Naugatuck to Waterbury, the Republican-American reports.

The facility located at 80 Rado Drive in the Naugatuck Industrial Park is moving to the former Napoli Foods Distribution Facility at 479 Chase River Road in Waterbury.

Coca-Cola representatives told borough officials there was no suitable building in Naugatuck that could accommodate the cross-docking loading practice the company was looking to move towards, the paper reports.

Waterbury pursued Coca-Cola once it was announced that the company would be leaving Naugatuck. According to the paper, the facility in Waterbury will be able to accommodate cross-docking and the company will be eligible for the same tax breaks as it was in Naugatuck.

Ron Pugliese, chief operation officer of the Naugatuck Economic Development Corp. told the paper YoCrunch plans to consolidate some operations into the 70,000-square-foot building on Rado Drive.
