Japanese automaker's sales in Vietnam on track to top 10,000

TOKYO -- Mazda Motor looks poised to drive past a landmark in Vietnam's growing auto market this fiscal year as it closes in on selling more than 10,000 cars there in a year for the time ever.

The company will likely report sales this fiscal year that double the 5,200 units sold in the year to March 2014. That would mean a 7-8% share of the overall market and leave it second only to Toyota Motor among Japanese automakers in that country.
