Blue Turtle Technologies has announced that Informatica (Nasdaq:INFA), the world's number one independent provider of data integration software, has been positioned a Leader and distinguished as a "disruptive innovator" in the newly released IDC MarketScape: Business-to-Business Integration Gateway Software report.
Informatica is one of just two vendors to be further distinguished in the IDC MarketScape report as a disruptive innovator. According to the IDC MarketScape, Informatica has "invested in integrating its B2Bi gateway with third-platform technologies, such as Hadoop, and for that reason, we rank Informatica as a disruptive innovator."
The new IDC MarketScape focuses on business-to-business integration (B2Bi) gateway software vendors that have products or suites that support comprehensive trading partner collaboration. B2Bi gateways support sophisticated requirements of enterprises focused on automating the exchange of documents between themselves and their trading partners.
In the overall report, the IDC MarketScape observes: "Because of Informatica's comprehensive B2Bi gateway software portfolio, professional services capabilities, and support of transport protocols, it should be considered by enterprises as a B2Bi gateway software candidate for comprehensive B2Bi integration requirements."
The IDC MarketScape report also states that "a major differentiator is Informatica's ability to process unstructured data with ease", and that "Informatica is a clear leader in the number of nonstandard document types it can process using its B2B Data Transformation tool".
Another key advantage, according to the IDC MarketScape report, is that Informatica has "a straightforward user interface with simple menu-driven screens for onboarding and troubleshooting", and that "these can be configured for use by a business user with no technical expertise". By putting this capability into the hands of business users, "enterprises can expect a lower total cost of ownership on average when managing a large and growing number of trading partners".
Todd Goldman, vice president and general manager, Informatica Enterprise Data Integration and Data Quality, said: "IDC's MarketScape report is further validation of Informatica's leadership in the B2B integration market, both in terms of our strong product capabilities and our product strategy. With the addition of the new IDC MarketScape, Informatica has been recognised as a leader across all major data management categories, ranging from data integration and quality, to master data management, to B2B integration, based on reports from leading independent research firms during the past nine months."
"This recognition by IDC MarketSpace further validates Informatica's position as the world's number one independent leader in data integration software. It further supports the progress we've made to help our joint clients get the most out of their data and realise their full information potential," concluded Alan Kuun, Product manager, Information Management at Blue Turtle.
