Obituary: Roig, Jaclyn Ann “Jackie”

Age 78

ROIG, Jaclyn Ann “Jackie” Passed away peacefully on Friday, November 14, 2014.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Tony Roig.

Jackie will be forever loved and deeply missed by her surviving family and friends.

Jackie was born to Samuel and Katherine Yeo of Sterling, Kansas, on July 23, 1936.

She joined an older sister, Nanette.

Her father died suddenly in 1942 and the family moved to Spokane two years later.

She attended Spokane schools, including West Valley High School, where she made many lifelong friends.

In 1957, she met and married the love of her life, Tony Roig.

They spent the next 53 years traveling the US, South America and Japan while Tony played professional baseball.

They kept a home in Liberty Lake, where they lived until his passing in 2010.

Jackie will be remembered for her beautiful smile and huge heart, love of cats and chocolate, and competitive games of GREED with her grandchildren.

Her favorite days were spent on any beach shelling, sunning and floating on the water.

She is survived by her children, Mike (Karen) Roig of Ovilla, TX, Rick (Vickie) Roig of Cheney WA, and Lisa (Eric) Nunn of Midlothian TX; nine grandchildren, Tony (Jennifer) Roig, Brandee (Eric) Glenn, Clint (Jillian) Roig, Matt (Brianne) Roig, Hayley (Daniel) Nanasi, Rachael Roig, Jaclyn Nunn, Christopher Roig, and Elliott Nunn; and seven great grandchildren, Austin Glenn, Taylor Glenn, Carissa Glenn, Anton Roig, Madelyn Roig, Jackson Roig, and Rylie Roig.

The family would like to thank the staff at Guardian Angel for their care and kindness over the past two years.

At Jackie’s request, no services will be held.
