CommVault Systems, Inc. (CVLT) said net income for the third quarter plunged to $3.07 million or $0.07 per share from $17.59 million or $0.35 per share in the prior-year quarter.
Excluding items, adjusted net income for the quarter was $15.90 million or $0.34 per share, compared to $26.89 million or $0.54 per share in the year-ago quarter.
Total revenues for the quarter edged down to $153.02 million from $153.25 million in the same quarter last year.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.35 per share on revenues of $153.21 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
