Netanyahu's response to Jimmy Carter's request for a meeting: Not happening, ace
Nothing good can ever come of Jimmy Carter traveling abroad. All he does on his freelance diplomatic junkets is cozy up to dictators, despots and terrorists.
And he made it clear long ago whose side he's on in the never-ending dispute between the Israelis and the Palestinians. If you doubt that, pick up his book Peace Not Apartheid (I recommend a very cheap used copy), and you'll see that one of Yasser Arafat's biggest apologists manages to blame Israel for just about every act of aggression perpetrated against it. So when America's gigantic mistake of a 39th president visits Israel and requests permission from the government to visit Gaza, he should thank God the Israelis were willing let him do even that much. But when he asked for a meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyauh, not to mention President Reuven Rivlin, only one answer was either possible or appropriate. Hell no:
The official said that Rivlin and Netanyahu rejected the request after inner consultations over the last few days between the Foreign Ministry and the National Security Council of the Prime Minister's Office.

Rivlin's refusal to meet with Carter was first reported Monday night on Channel 10. It is not yet clear if in light of the senior government official's refusal to meet with him, Carter will decide to cancel his visit. According to the senior official, the Foreign Ministry recommended that Rivlin and Netanyahu not meet with Carter because of what they termed his "anti-Israeli stance" over the last few years, particularly during the summer war in Gaza. During the war, Carter voiced harsh criticism on Israel and called to remove Hamas from the American State Department's list of terror organizations.
I would wonder aloud what measure Jimmeh uses to reach the conclusion that Hamas is not a terrorist organization, but that would give too much credit to the wimp for using any sort of logic or serious analysis. He sympathizes with Hamas for the simple reason that he hates Israel, and furthermore he has demonstrated a consistent instinct to cozy up to the most murderous thugs on Earth. Whether this stems from a quiet sympathy with their causes or some messianic delusion that he can take them to church and show them the error of their ways, Carter always opposes American strategic force, and always makes excuses for the world's worst bad actors. So it's a very wise decision for Netanyahu and Rivlin to tell Jimmy Carter what he can do with his request for a meeting. Everyone knows what he would say to them anyway: Stop the settlements, stop defending yourselves, etc. It's all your fault. No one who is serious about defending a nation under constant existential threat has time to listen to nonsense from a narcissistic wimp who hasn't been relevant for more than three decades. It's bad enough that they have to deal with the one who will still be relevant for another 21 months.
