Specialty retailer Conn's opening first Nashville store

Specialty retailer Conn's plans to open its first Nashville area store July 4 at the Rivergate Station shopping center at 1655 Gallatin Pike in Madison.

The 45,900-square-foot Conn's HomePlus would be the third store in Tennessee for The Woodlands, Texas-based retailer of home appliances, furnishings and electronics. It also has stores in Knoxville and Memphis.

The Madison store will employ about 30. On opening day, the first 100 patrons will get a $100 Conn's gift card. In addition, one lucky customer could win a $10,000 shopping spree within the first 90 days of opening.

Nationwide, Conn's operates more than 75 retail locations in Arizona, Colorado, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas. The specialty retailer expects to add about 15 to 20 stores in fiscal year 2015.
