General Motors Company (GM) Ready For High-End Management Transitions, GM Canada Gets New President

The largest automaker of U.S., General Motors Company (NYSE:GM), is up for some top leadership changes, as the company reshuffles its management. In the transition, two of the top female executives of the automaker will handle new management responsibilities whereas two high-end male executives will focus towards the purchasing power of the company. In addition to it, the automaker has announced new head for its Canadian operations.

Marry Chan, VP, global connected consumer for GM, has renounced her job responsibilities and Alicia Boler-Davis is likely to take her role. Boler-Davis would be responsible for manageing OnStar communications network of General Motors Company (NYSE:GM). In her professional career within the company, Boler-Davis was the head of the quality organization of the company. With her new management role, Grace Lieblein would be responsible for the quality division of the automaker.

In a chain of management changes, Steve Kiefer is likely to handle Lieblein’s responsibilities and work as the VP of global purchase and supply chain of the company. Similarly, Dan Nicholson, who will handle global powertrain for the company, would undertake the responsibilities of Kiefer.

General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) said that these changes would help “continue its evolution into a stronger, more customer-centric organization.”

These are not the only major changes for General Motors as GM Canada’s president and MD, Kevin W. Williams, has decided to retire by the end of the year. Stephen K. Carlisle would undertake the post of President and MD of GM Canada effective from January 1, 2015.

While talking about Williams, Marry Barra, CEO of General Motors Company (NYSE:GM), said,

“I’d like to thank Kevin for his leadership and significant contributions throughout a long and distinguished career with GM. In his most recent assignment, Kevin helped rebuild GM Canada after one of our most challenging periods and has established a solid foundation for growth into the future.”
