As a direct-hire, heavy industrial contractor, Wanzek serves the industries of power, renewable energy, oil & gas, heavy/civil and industrial agriculture. Q. Are there important projects the company is currently a part of or has done recently?

A. Wanzek Construction was selected as the balance of plant contractor for a project that is using a cutting edge prototype wind turbine. Wanzek will utilize its Terex Demag CC2800 crane in super-lift configuration to perform this work. Once the prototype is completed, Wanzek will be the only contractor in North America with experience assembling this particular wind turbine.

Q. Describe the equipment your company uses and are there any new equipment purchases planned?

A. Wanzek’s fleet of all terrain, rough terrain, lattice-boom crawlers and hydraulic truck cranes, has earned recognition on American Cranes & Transport Magazine’s list of North America’s Largest Crane Owning companies. Wanzek’s crane fleet ranges from Rough Terrain 28-75 ton to Crawler 100-660 ton. Our featured cranes include Mobile 38-275 ton, Terex CC 2800 660 ton superlift, Terex CC 2500 550 ton superlift/luffer, and ATC link-belt 3275 275 all terrain ton.

Q. Is your company expanding any of its operations or locations?

A. Wanzek is currently constructing a new facility in Alexander, ND that will serve as a depot for the firm’s crane equipment storage and maintenance. This six-acre site features an 8,000-sq-ft shop and office building and will also provide living quarters for up to twenty four crane services team members working in the Bakken. The project is slated to be completed in May 2014.

A. In the Oil &Gas Industry

Wanzek’s demand for crane services in oil-rich Western North Dakota has expanded significantly, with opportunities in a wide range of services to the oil and gas industry. In addition to a fleet of company-owned cranes and equipment, Wanzek’s experienced direct-hire crews and knowledgeable project managers enable consistent delivery of the highest quality work. A dedication to performing efficient management services using leading edge technology, whether software, equipment or training, allows Wanzek to complete jobs at a high standard of excellence.

Wanzek oil and gas services comprises of facilities construction, including pump and compressor stations; crude oil and gas plant expansions; skid & module fabrications; bulk terminals & storage and LNG/GNL storage as well as reliability and maintenance services, including pipeline maintenance; facilities maintenance; capital modifications; hydrostatic testing support, and drilling support including crane services support; well pad development; equipment settings and roustabout services.

Wanzek Construction, Inc., a MasTec company, is continuing to expand its operations and maintenance services in the wind industry. As a top-tier wind contractor, Wanzek has erected over 2800 turbines and constructed over 5400MW of wind energy generation capacity. The company has expanded this success with a growing O&M services department that provides wind project owners and operators a single-source solution for mechanical, electrical, civil and crane services.
