Is adding an HDMI to VGA adapter likely to fix a display lag problem between my PC and Sharp Aquos?

Before I shell out $20+ for an adapter, I'd like to know whether this is actually likely to work. My PC has a GTX 770, and it's connected to a 60" Sharp Aquos via a 35" BlueRigger HDMI cable. The TV has a VGA input, three HDMI inputs, and a 1/4" audio jack, but lacks a game mode. I've disabled any "extra" settings that could be causing additional processing via the HDMI. Will adding a VGA/audio adapter to the TV connection rid me of my 120ms input lag, or will the conversion from digital to analog offset that, or what results should I expect if I use an adapter like this:
