By Chuck Barney, Contra Costa Times

SUNDAY

Break out the swimsuits and sashes. It's time once again for beautiful women from across the globe to compete in the Miss Universe Pageant. Natalie Morales and Thomas Roberts are cohosts. 8 p.m., NBC.

Milford native Dax Shepard in “Parenthood,” which ends its six-season run Thursday night.

MONDAY

NFL analyst Boomer Esiason and actress Katharine McPhee team up to host "Super Bowl's Greatest Commercials." It's a showcase of some of the funniest — and most effective — ads that have debuted over the years during the big game. 8 p.m., CBS.

TUESDAY

The action heats up in "Face Off" as Josh Hutcherson of "The Hunger Games" comes aboard as a guest judge. This week's challenge? To create deadly predator creatures. 9 p.m., Syfy.

WEDNESDAY

■ The suspenseful adventures of Phillip and Elizabeth Jennings (Matthew Rhys, Keri Russell) resume as Cold War-era thriller "The Americans" launches its third season. Now, the undercover Russian spies have differing opinions on how to handle orders from their bosses regarding their teenage daughter. "The Americans" continues to be one of TV's standout shows. Maybe this year, Emmy voters will finally realize that. 10 p.m., FX.

■ "Suits" returns for its midseason premiere and things could get ugly. That's because the wretched Louis (Rick Hoffman) now knows the big secret — that Mike (Patrick J. Adams) isn't a real lawyer. 10 p.m., USA.

THURSDAY

■ How many more jaw-dropping moments does "How to Get Away with Murder" have in store? We'll find out when the twisty legal thriller returns from hiatus, along with the other Shonda Rhimes dramas, "Grey's Anatomy" and "Scandal." 10 p.m., ABC.

■ Yes, we are extremely sad to bid farewell to the Braverman clan of "Parenthood," which ends its emotional six-season run tonight. On the other hand, we'll probably save a lot of money on Kleenex. 10 p.m., NBC.

FRIDAY

The eerie shenanigans just never stop on "Grimm." Now, Nick (David Giuntoli) and Hank (Russell Hornsby) are called in to investigate a shocking homicide at a haunted house in Portland. 9 p.m., NBC.

SATURDAY

Rob Lowe takes a break from playing himself in those DirecTV commercials to star in the TV film "Beautiful and Twisted." He plays an heir to a hotel fortune whose murder leads investigators into a web of sex, lies and payback. 8 p.m., Lifetime.
