Exelon Corp. (EXC) reported that its third-quarter net income increased to $993 million or $1.15 per share from $738 million or $0.86 per share, last year. Adjusted net income was $676 million or $0.78 per share, for the quarter.
On average, 14 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit per share of $0.73 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Operating revenues increased to $6.91 billion from $6.50 billion, a year ago. Adjusted non-GAAP revenue was $6.66 billion, compared to $6.41 billion. Analysts expected revenue of $6.19 billion for the quarter.
The company narrowed its full-year operating earnings guidance to $2.30 to $2.50 per share. Analysts expect the company to report full year earnings per share of $2.38.
