Comcast NBCUniversal Taps Mitch Rose as SVP of Government Affairs [Manufacturing Close - Up]


(Manufacturing Close - Up Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Mitch Rose will join Comcast NBCUniversal as Senior Vice President of Government Affairs, NBCUniversal.

Rose currently provides strategic consulting services to a range of clients, including Comcast, NCTA, and RIAA, as the principal of Mitch Rose Strategic Consulting. Before establishing his own firm, Rose was Vice President, Government Relations, for The Walt Disney Company. Rose will be located in the Comcast NBCUniversal government affairs office in Washington, DC. He will report directly to David L. Cohen, Executive Vice President of Comcast Corp., as well as to Kim Harris, NBCUniversal's Executive Vice President and General Counsel, who is responsible for coordinating NBCUniversal government affairs.



Cohen said, "Mitch's extensive background working in the private and public sectors for Members of Congress, in the media and broadcast industry, and as a valued consultant has demonstrated his deft handling of important issues and strong understanding of the subjects, both domestic and international, that we face. His deep knowledge of the legislative process and industry experience along with his exceptional relationships on Capitol Hill and across Washington brings Comcast and NBCUniversal the perfect combination of skills." "We're thrilled Mitch has agreed to head the government relations operations for NBCUniversal. He will be a great addition to the outstanding team we have in place in Washington. With Melissa Maxfield having overall responsibility for congressional affairs, Kathy Zachem leading our regulatory affairs organization, Lynn Charytan in charge of legal regulatory affairs, Rebecca Arbogast overseeing our public policy operation, and now Mitch Rose heading NBCUniversal federal government affairs, we have a great Washington government affairs organization," Cohen added.

Before joining Disney, Rose spent over fifteen years on Capitol Hill. From 1997 to 2000, he was Chief of Staff to Senator Ted Stevens (R - Alaska). In addition, he served as a Legislative Aide in the House for two years and in a variety of positions for former Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole (R - Kansas), including Press Aide.
