NEW DELHI: A day after the death of an Army colonel and a constable in a terrorist encounter in Jammu & Kashmir, Congress said the activities of Pakistan-exported outlaws in Kashmir are on the rise while terror founts like Hafiz Saeed were roaming freely spouting anti-India venom across the border.
It asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene and take up the activities of Jamaat-ud-Dawa and Saeed with Pakistan.

“In 2014 alone, there have been close to 250 such incidents in J&K, whether on international border or along the LoC where over 40 Indian soldiers of various ranks have laid down their lives besides extensive damage to life and property of civilians,” AICC spokesman Randeep Surjewala said, paying homage to Colonel MN Rai and Indian soldiers for their supreme sacrifice.
The AICC said, “On the other side, we yesterday (Tuesday) saw on television channels and newspapers Saeed, who has been principally responsible for 26/11 Mumbai attack, holding public meetings and laying down his anti-India agenda in public in Pakistan despite Islamabad’s claims of Saeed being in captivity.”
Congress said such brazen behaviour was shocking as it comes close on the heels of the joint statement of the Indian PM and US president warning Pakistan against exporting terror.
“The PM must take up this issue with the government of Pakistan as to how a man who is supposed to be in detention is being permitted to hold public meetings with the active aid of Pakistani government. Why should people like Saeed not be handed over to India?” Surjewala asked.
