A company has announced plans to add more than 100 new jobs over the next five years in Rockingham County.Mohawk Industries plans to add 105 jobs as part of an expansion in Eden, state economic development officials said Thursday. The plant currently employs more than 170 people.The plant is expanding production for commercial carpets, including those used in the aviation industry.Average salaries for the jobs will range from $35,000 to $40,000, which is above the county average of $34,400.Incentive information wasn't released Thursday, though state officials said the company plans to invest $8 million into the city of Eden.The plant has been making Karastan rugs since 1928, and the company employs more than 1,200 people across the state.More information on the company can be found at mohawkind.com.
