Police looking for man who robbed Sunoco gas station in Salina

SALINA, N.Y. -- Police are looking for a man they say robbed a Sunoco gas station Wednesday night in the town of Salina.

The robber went into the store just before 11 p.m. at 2300 Court St. wearing a dark mask on his face and demanded money from the cashier, said Detective Jon Seeber, of the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office.

He said the suspect is a white male between 5-feet-seven-inches to 5-feet-10-inches tall, about 170 pounds who was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, tan boots and a mask covering his face.

Police said the suspect sustained a head injury before leaving the store and might need medical attention. He was last seen running southbound on Darlington Road East.

Seeber said he cannot comment about how the injury was sustained or if a weapon was used during the robbery because the case is an open investigation.
