Power problem hampers water delivery

Staff report

COSHOCTON – A tree fell on a power line at about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday and burnt out water pump motors that could affect water pressure for some city residents, Coshocton Utilities Director Dave McVay said.

The city ordered replacement motors and expected to begin repair work by 5 p.m. Tuesday, with completion expected by midnight, McVay said.

Up to 300 customers in the area bounded by Ridgewood Drive, Morgan Run Road, the Cambridge Road corporation line and Pleasant Valley could experience water-pressure loss before the repairs, according to a city press release.

About 73 power customers in the area were affected by the resulting power outage Tuesday, according to Terri Flora, American Electric Power spokeswoman. Power was restored by 11:45 a.m. Tuesday.
