Tim Hudson
Tim Hudson of Grosse Pointe Farms was named Chief Development Officer of Forgotten Harvest, food rescue organization. Hudson has more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit development leadership in Detroit; Washington, D.C.; and Boston. His career has involved directing organizational growth, strategic planning, and successful management and implementation of major fundraising campaigns. Most recently, Hudson was the Director of Development for Institutional Advancement and the College of Business at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. Prior to this, he held fundraising leadership positions at the College for Creative Studies, St. John Providence Health System Foundations and Habitat for Humanity Detroit. Hudson serves as Vice Chair on the board of Kids on the Go, a Detroit-area nonprofit pediatric program for special needs children. He is a graduate of Leadership Detroit XXVIII.
John A. Ransom, II
John A. Ransom, II of Clarkston has joined Fifth Third Bank (Eastern Michigan) as a wealth management advisor and vice president. In this role, Ransom, a Clarkston resident, will provide financial planning services to high net worth individuals. His goal is to simplify the financial complexity in his clients’ lives. A banking veteran with more than 25 years experience, Ransom most recently served as a client wealth advisor and vice president at FirstMerit Bank.
Ransom is a board member and instructor for Junior Achievement as well as a member of the Crittenton Hospital Planned Giving Committee.
Marge Basrai
Marge Basrai, Controller for the Airport Authority that operates Detroit Metropolitan and Willow Run Airports is among those who received the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountant’s, (MICPA), Most Outstanding Task Force Award presented to the Professional Ethics Task Force, in which Basrai currently serves as chairwoman. Basrai is also participating in the Detroit Regional Chamber’s ‘Leadership Detroit’ program. The program is a 10-month transformational leadership academy designed to challenge emerging and existing community leaders from Southeast Michigan to bring about positive change.
MICPA announced Basrai’s team as the winner of the Most Outstanding Task Force, along with other awards at an awards dinner held at Shenandoah Country Club in West Bloomfield, earlier this fall.
Robert Keenan
Robert Keenan was appointed as the new president of Seco Tools, LLC in North America, effective Jan. 1. Keenan will succeed current president Kurt Nordlund who will return to Seco Tools AB in Sweden as senior advisor on a global basis. A planned transition, Seco promoted Keenan from within the organization. In his new role, he will work to continue the company’s aggressive market share growth strategy while maintaining Seco’s culture and core values. Keenan, presently the Canada country manager and central zone manager for Seco, brings over 20 years of metal cutting industry experience to the new position. In addition to his extensive sales management experience within Seco, he previously owned and managed his own cutting tool distribution business.
Nordlund headed Seco Tools for the past seven years.
Brian Boike
Brian Boike of Fenton recently joined Flagstar Bank as executive vice president and treasurer. In this role, he is responsible for all treasury activities, including management of the bank’s balance sheet, capital, funding, and liquidity.
Prior to Flagstar, he was director of capital planning and stress testing for FirstMerit Bank.
Earlier in his career he held leadership positions with Citizens Republic Bancorp, including serving as treasurer and asset-liability manager.
Haifa Fakhouri
Haifa Fakhouri Ph.D, president and CEO of the Arab American and Chaldean Council (ACC) has been named Arab American Business Woman of the Year by the Arab American Women’s Business Council. Fakhouri co-founded ACC in 1979 as a nonprofit human service organization providing services to the Middle Eastern and mainstream communities in Southeast Michigan. Celebrating its 35th anniversary in 2014, ACC has grown to 40 outreach offices in the tri-county area, serving more than 80,000 people on an annual basis.
Paul Gazzolo
Paul Gazzolo was named Senior Vice President and General Manager of Gale, a division of Cengage Learning. Gazzalo will be based out of Gale’s Farmington Hills office. In this role, Gazzolo will lead Gale’s strategy, product development, sales and marketing teams, and continue to identify ways Gale can partner with libraries to help them deliver value to the communities they serve. Gazzolo will be charged with growing Gale’s brand globally.
