Kudos to Legislature for push-back vs. bullying by Magellan Health Care

Bravo to the Arizona Legislature for pushing back on the efforts of a losing bidder, Magellan Health Care, to overturn the decision on the contractor selected to provide mental-health and substance-abuse services in Maricopa County.

In the 20 years in which I managed contract procurements, on occasion, an unsuccessful proposer would try to apply pressure to reverse our choice of contractor. They never succeeded.

My philosophy was that any service provider that thinks it can intimidate us into hiring them is not the kind of service provider we want to have working for us.
