A crime scene where the deaf sister of a Jerry Springer producer died could have been STAGED, according to reports.

Jill Blackstone, who also produced hit US programmes such as Sally Jessy Raphael and Rosie, has been arrested on suspicion of her sister Wendy's murder.

She reportedly called police on Monday, telling officers her sister and three dead dogs were in her garage.

According to TMZ, there was a barbecue at her sister's feet with ash still in the grill, and police found it suspicious it was so close to her body.

When emergency services rushed to the property in San Fernando Valley, where her sister was found, officers also thought her suicide note looked suspicious.

According to US gossip site TMZ, they believe it may have been written by Blackstone, who was subsequently arrested.

Now, according to the site, Wendy is believed to have died from carbon monoxide poisoning.

Jill had reportedly suffered from it too, but managed to get out of the garage to call emergency services.

She was arrested two days later, as she was released from hospital.

Her 49-year-old sister lived in Studio City and her body showed no outward signs of trauma. A toxicology report is expected to be carried out in coming days.

Blackstone was being held on $1 million bail and released late Wednesday afternoon.

A law enforcement source also claimed the case is being further investigated after it was sent back to the LAPD.
