Today we can exclusively announce the return of the much loved fixture in the North East musical calendar – The Jumpin’ Hot Jamboree Garden Party.

The three-day musical celebration, now in its third year, will return to Thorpe Lea East Farm, Easington Colliery, bringing together some of America’s greatest roots musical talent with some of the North East’s, and indeed the UK’s, finest artists set in rolling Durham countryside just yards from the coast.

This year’s evcent will take place from Friday June 19 to Sunday June 21 with the jamboree offering hot authentic music, along with great food, a real mad hatter tea party, craft ales and quirky stalls.

Also to look forward to are The Lathe Project with portable 78 recording machine wax cylinder, Mr Fisher the weekend DJ and Mr Drayton’s record player in a cave, a summer solstice midnight surprise, free camping, plumbed-in toilets, great beach/forest walks by the farm, children’s games, hay bales, a big bona fide campfire, a new flower garden and lots of parking space on the farm and a safe environment near the quaint beach at Hawthorn, near Easington.

The event is what is now known nationally as a boutique showcase featuring the finest in roots music to a discerning crowd of music lovers.

There will also be Jarrow Breweries on board, making Jamboree Ale in the festival bar, alongside all the other beers/wines and soft drinks.

The Jamboree is delighted again to present the Lathe Project through Newcastle University and live recordings on a 1938 Presto lathe will take place with the added bonus of a wax cylinder.

They will also have a special showing of the film Gateshead College made for Jumpin’ Hot Club’s 30th anniversary and Amber films have agreed to show some rare music clips from their secret garden.

As always there will be a packed live music schedule. Saturday’s headliner are Hat Fitz & Cara – the married couple playing some playing old timey bluesy roots music with a bit of Aussie humour.

Next up is Freschard, the ex-waitress from Paris with anti folk hero Stanley Brinks and songs deftly combining folk music and quirky pop.

The Bluebell Cajun dance band are what their very name suggests and perfect for a barn hoedown. Cocos Lovers, the Kent-based seven-piece folk ensemble with an African twist, are a truly great festival band.
