Rick Green, president and publisher of The Des Moines Register, will become president and publisher of the Cincinnati Enquirer. Gannett Co. Inc., parent company of the two news organizations, announced the move Wednesday, Feb 18, 2015. Green has been publisher of the Register since August 2013, and before that was the Register's vice president and editor. His last day in Des Moines will be Feb. 27. Green will succeed Margaret Buchanan, who is retiring. She has served as president and publisher of the Enquirer since 2003.
