STRATHAM – Tuesday afternoon Volunteer NH and New Hampshire Businesses for Social Responsibility partnered with Timberland to host the first Business Makes a Difference Volunteer Fair at Timberland’s Domain Drive campus.

Michelle Veasey, executive director of New Hampshire Businesses for Social Responsibility, was excited about the fair’s potential to expose area businesses to volunteer opportunities at various New Hampshire non-profits for businesses interested in corporate and social responsibility.

“This is our way of showing businesses what’s out there,” she said.

Around 25 different Seacoast businesses sent employees and representatives to the fair, where non-profits including Sexual Assault Support Services of New Hampshire, the New Hampshire Food Bank and BreatheNH, a lung health awareness group based in Manchester.

The New Hampshire Association for the Blind also was present, trying to raise awareness of the need for volunteers to help individuals in the area with varying degrees of vision loss with every day activities. Drivers are especially needed, they stressed.
