California Tortilla has a new burrito that tastes a lot like college

California Tortilla's new Ramen Burrito is on trend. Other menu updates across the fast casual industry: bd's Mongolian Grill adds local, seasonal produce to its market area; Pieology adds Alfredo Sauce and Whole Wheat Crust; new smoothies debut for Bananas and Jamba Juice; The Habit brings back Sesame Chicken and Almond Salad.

California Tortilla is jumping on the red-hot Asian food trend with its new Ramen Burrito.

The Ramen Burrito features an Asian noodle base topped with chicken, steak or pork, sweet red chili sauce, Sciracha pickled onions, fresh avocado, spinach, corn, scallions and cilantro.

“Ramen was one of the hottest food trends of 2014, and our customers are always excited to try new flavors,” said Keith Goldman, California Tortilla’s Chief Operating Officer and creator of the Ramen Burrito, in a company press release.  “So we reinvented the traditional noodle bowl without the broth, but with all the classic flavors, and wrapped it up in a flour tortilla.  It’s one of my favorite new menu items, and I can’t wait for our customers to try it.”

The Ramen Burrito is available from now through April at California Tortilla locations nationwide.
