Smartwatches are still kind of a niche product. We’ve been seeing a lot of smartwatches hit the market in the last couple of months, and there’s no doubt many more will arrive by the end of the year, but they’re not selling all that well. Many OEMs are waiting to see if it’s worth manufacturing a smartwatch or not, while others are pushing them out in the market like crazy. The majority of the currently available smartwatches in the market are powered by Google’s Android Wear operating system. That being said, Moto 360 is according to many people still one of the most beautiful smartwatch offerings out in the market.
This round smartwatch was originally announced back in March 2014, released in September and it took it about a month to reach India. The smartwatch was available in India ever since then, but only in one version, the variant with a leather strap. As you all probably know, Motorola has introduced the second variant of the device, the one which ships with a metal band. That variant of this smartwatch was available in a number of markets and it has finally arrived in India as well. The Motorola Moto 360 is now available in India exclusively through Flipkart. You can get this smartwatch in Black and Silver color options for Rs. 19,999 ($315), for comparison’s sake, the original leather strap Moto 360 was priced at Rs. 17,999 ($283) at launch.
The Motorola Moto 360 features a 1.5-inch 320 x 290 touchscreen display on the front which is protected by Corning’s Gorilla glass. This smartwatch is powered by Texas Instruments (TI) OMAP 3 processor and ships with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. The 320mAh battery comes built-in here. The Moto 360 also has a built-in pedometer, optical heart rate monitor and IP67 certification for water and dust resistance. The watch itself is made out of metal, so it both looks and feels premium. It definitely took Motorola a while to offer this version of the Moto 360 to consumers in India, but it’s now finally available if there are still those of you who want to get a copy.
