The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order and Traffic) in Kochi, T. Narayanan, will be the new District Superintendent of Police (SP) in Pathanamthitta. He will assume charge on Friday, according to official sources.
His posting is following the suspension of Jacob Job, who had assumed charge as the SP here three weeks ago following his controversial ‘closed-door interrogation’ of the key accused in the Chandrabose murder case, Mohamed Nisham, in Thrissur on February 27.
Mr. Narayanan, who secured his Masters in Management Studies from BITS, Pilani, belongs to the IPS batch of 2011.
A native of Mannar in Alappuzha district, the 32-year-old officer had served as the ASP in Thalasserry for a year and a half, and as the Commandant of the Thrissur-based Indian Reserve Battallion Police, before becoming the Deputy Commissioner of Police in Kochi.
Mr. Narayanan was the Assistant Police Special Officer at Sabarimala during the first 28 days of the Mandalam pilgrim season.
His wife P.I. Sreevidya is the District Collector of Mangalore in Karnataka.
