From the makers of Hannah Montana – the TV show that launched Miley Cyrus’s career – comes A History of Radness, a new series that is set to include a lineup of revered rock musicians.
As The Wrap reports, this new show, created by producer and writer Andrew Green, will feature music from the Thermals’ Hutch Harris, as well as Smashing Pumpkins’ guitarist James Iha.
With an alt-rock score, its cast will be inhabited by a number of star musicians: it will feature narration from Best Coast’s Bethany Cosentino and Imagine Dragons’ Dan Reynolds and, following his role in 1998’s Jack Frost, Henry Rollins will appear as a character named Coach Carlucci.
Although little else is known about A History of Radness – with only pilot so far ordered by Amazon – its story follows “siblings Jack and Tessie from their less-than-cool middle school beginnings at Pleasant Meadows Middle School to the start of their music careers as they put together a band of like-minded musicians, considered outsiders by fellow classmates”.
It is executive produced by Skot Bright, who has worked on a number of music-related productions including Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers: Running Down A Dream and Bee Gees: In Our Own Time.
