Some good news for OnePlus One users in India. Owners of the phone will be able to get the Android Lollipop-based CM12 software update from Cyanogen. Responding to a tweet online. OnePlus is currently at loggerheads with Micromax and it was reported that OnePlus was on the brink of breaking off its deal with Cyanogen. Micromax had signed an agreement with Cyanogen for its online-only brand of smart devices YU, which gives Micromax exclusive rights in India over the Android-based CynogenMod ROM mobile operating system. OnePlus was also stopped from shipping or selling its smartphones in India, just a fortnight after its launch in the country following an interim injunction by the Delhi High Court. This injunction was granted to Micromax after it complained that OnePlus had infringed on its exclusive rights by launching OnePlus One on December 2. Micromax claimed that it has incurred “major expenses for creating a brand exclusivity to Indian customers mobile phones with Cyanogen operating systems” and the company will “suffer irreparable harm and loss if the defendants are permitted to continue with their illegal acts in violation of the agreement between Micromax and Cyanogen”.
