Game developer 2K announced that players who preorder the upcoming game "NBA 2K16" can play four days ahead of the official launch date on September 29, 2015. This means that players who preorder will be able to play as early as on September 25, 2015.

2K made the announcement on its Facebook and Twitter accounts.

VG247 reported that the "NBA 2K16 Early Tip-Off Edition for North America" will upgrade the current game title to the special edition. Players will also receive 10,000 NBA Virtual Currency, a MyTEAM Gold Booster Pack with guaranteed Gold Player and four extra Gold items, the NBA 2K MyTEAM VIP Pack which includes three MyTEAM Emerald Packs with a guaranteed Emerald player. All these will be featured together with the edition and the offer has been extended for all those who will preorder on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Xbox 360. The "Tip-Off Edition" will reportedly be available at GameStop and Amazon. Other retailers may also have the early version available, so gamers have to confirm first.

Softpedia stated that the development team did not announce any major adjustment for "NBA 2K16." There will be a full list of game mechanics and aspects that were tweaked in the following weeks, although players should expect more changes in terms of the control system and player interaction on offense and defense. 2K Games has yet to announce whether they will feature a new artist to curate the game soundtrack as they did on previous installments by collaborating with Jay-Z and Pharrell Williams. NBA 2K has been the dominant NBA-based game in the past several years but it is expected to find some competition in EA Sports' title "NBA Live."

"NBA 2K16 promises to be one of the most groundbreaking sports titles in video game history, combining exciting new features with uncanny realism. We're always seeking new ways to excite and ignite our fans' tremendous passion for the franchise, and offering unmatched early access is just another way to bring them closer to the on-court action they crave," said Alfie Brody, the vice president of marketing for "NBA 2K," about the new title, according to Business Wire.
