For Rush diehards, the wait is over. The trio has announced dates for its 40th anniversary North American tour, expected to be the last of its kind for some time.
The 34-city trek “will most likely be their last major tour of this magnitude,” according to a press release. It kicks off May 8 in Tulsa, Okla. and runs through Aug. 1 in Los Angeles, with the Toronto-based band hitting four Canadian cities along the way. Tickets go on sale Jan. 30.
Rush formed in 1968, so the 40th anniversary technically commemorates drummer Neil Peart joining the band (which actually happened in 1974).
Rush Planning Anniversary Tour for 2015
They’re expected to play much more of their ’70s material, which was mostly avoided when they toured behind 2012’s Clockwork Angels.
