Cyber Security Stocks Mixed After Attack On NYC E-Mail System

Cyber Security stocks were mixed Thursday following reports of a cyber attack on New York City’s e-mail system.

 

According to the New York Post, the Office of the Mayor, City Council and Comptroller’s Office could not send or receive email outside of their offices on Wednesday.

The “denial of service” attack caused email services to fail from approximately 11 AM into the evening.

 

No personal or city records were compromised in the attack according to sources speaking to the New York Post.

Shares of FireEye Inc FEYE were down Thursday and recently traded at $43.45, a decline of 0.49 percent.

Symantec Corporation SYMC also fell and recently traded at $25.54, down 0.58 percent.

Cyberark Software Ltd CYBR moved higher following an earlier decline and recently traded at $60.88, up 0.93 percent.
