Utilities stocks finished down broadly on Wall Street today, with the sector seeing an overall decline of 0.4%.

More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 1.2%, the Nasdaq was down 1.6% and the S&P 500 declined 1.2%.

Some of the biggest gainers among utilities stocks include:

• Transalta Corp (TAC): TAC stock is up 0.4%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Enbridge Inc (ENB): ENB stock is up 0.2% today.

• Western Gas Partners LP (WES): WES stock is up 0.2% today.

Some of the biggest losers among utilities stocks include:

• Centrais Elc Braz Pfb B Elbras (EBR): EBR stock is down 2.4% today.

• Empresa Nacional De Electricidad S.A. (EOC): EOC stock is down 2.1% today on 3 times normal volume.

• Calpine Corp (CPN): CPN stock is down 2.0% today.

• Energy Transfer Equity LP (ETE): ETE stock is down 1.8% today.

• Southwest Gas Corp (SWX): SWX stock is down 1.5% today.

• Piedmont Natural Gas Company (PNY): PNY stock is down 1.5% today.

• American States Water Company (AWR): AWR stock is down 1.4% today.

• Otter Tail Corp (OTTR): OTTR stock is down 1.4% today.

• Enersis S A (ENI): ENI stock is down 1.4% today.

• Companhia Paranaense De Energia (ELP): ELP stock is down 1.4% today.
