Geoff Curtis, senior VP for health media at Edelman, has moved to Ireland-based Horizon Pharma as group VP of corporate communications, based in Illinois.
The biopharmaceutical company acquired Ireland's Vidra Therapeutics last year in a $660M tax "inversion" deal that moved Horizon's base from Deerfield, Ill., to Dublin. Horizon moved to acquire Hyperion Therapeutics on March 31 for $1.1B.
Curtis held senior agency roles in healthcare with GCI Group, WCG and most recently Edelman. He was also a PA manager for Abbott Laboratories.
Curtis' move to Horizon reunites him with chairman, president and CEO Tim Walbert, whom Curtis worked with at Abbott in the mid-2000s.
He oversees corporate and product comms., media relations and internal comms.
Publicly traded Horizon posted net sales of $297M in 2014 with a net loss of $263.6M.
