A Middletown man turned himself to police on Dec. 25, after a warrant was issued on a charge of threatening the Walmart in Middletown.

According to Middletown Police Department Lt. Michael Kelly, officers responded to the Walmart, off U.S. Route 301, on Dec. 24 to investigate a threat against the major retailer that was made via the internet. The investigation found that an unknown suspect had posted that they were “about to shoot up the Middletown Walmart.”

Detectives determined that Tyler Hubbard, 20, of the 200 block of Beckington Court in Middletown, had posted the remark. Warrants were obtained for Hubbard for one count of terroristic threatening, police said.

Hubbard was processed, arraigned and was released after posting a $1,000 secured bond. He was also ordered to have no contact with the Walmart store, according to police.
