Greeley-based Pilgrim’s Pride Corp. reported an 86 percent increase in adjusted earnings for 2014, according to an earnings release. Their earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization were $367.8 million, compared to $197.5 million EBITDA generated last year.

For the 2014 fiscal year, the company reported $8.58 billion in net sales and $1.35 billion of adjusted EBITDA, creating a 15.8 percent margin, the release said.

Pilgrim’s Pride, a JBS USA company, employs approximately 35,000 people and operates chicken processing plants and prepared foods facilities in 12 states, including Colorado.

“Though pleased with our results for 2014 and our team members deserve full credit, we will not be complacent,” Pilgrim’s Chief Executive Officer Bill Lovette said in the release. “We see 2015 as yet another opportunity for our team to create shareholder value through serving our key customers, relentless pursuit of operational excellence, and growing value added exports.

“As we begin the year, demand for chicken continues to be strong, out-pacing supply, and with the improvements we’ve implemented Pilgrim’s is ideally situated to reap the benefits.”
