Western Union now offers child support option

From Staff Reports

Florida residents can now make child support payments in cash through Western Union’s Child Support Payment Service, according to a news release from the Santa Rosa County Clerk of Court’s Office.

The service can be used at more than 2,400 outlets in Florida and 37,000 outlets nationwide.

“With this added convenience for our customers, they will no longer have to mail a check or money order to the State of Florida,” Santa Rosa County Clerk of Court Don Spencer said in the release. “They can stop by any Western Union at any time they are open and make their cash payment."

To use the service, participants will need to provide their county number, 11-digit case number and the custodial parent’s last name.

Transactions are limited to $5,000, and each transaction will incur a $3 Western Union fee.

Anyone with questions about making child support payments through Western Union should contact the Clerk’s Office at 981-5554.
