La-Z-Boy names Barbara Runyon to top HR post

MONROE, Mich. – La-Z-Boy Inc. has named Barbara Runyon as chief human resources officer.

She will join the company Feb. 2 and will report to Kurt Darrow, chairman, president and CEO.

She joins the company from Pepsi Co/The Pepsi Bottling Group where she worked for 14 years in various human resources roles. Most recently, she was senior director of human resources for the company’s Midwest division.

Before that, she was human resources manager for Prestolite Wire Corporation, which is based in Southfield, Michigan

In her new position, she will provide leadership and oversight in areas that include talent management, employee engagement, work force development and compensation and benefits.

In a statement, Darrow said, “We are delighted Barbara is joining the senior management team of La-Z-Boy. She is a high-caliber individual who brings a wealth of experience in all facets of human resources. I am confident she will make a significant contribution to the company as we enter the next chapter
