Children’s author to sign books

Shreveport native and children’s author David Ray will stage a reading and sign copies of his new children’s book “The Little Mouse Santi” Saturday.

The event will be at 2 p.m. at Barnes & Noble at the Bayou Walk Shopping Center, 6646 Youree Drive, Shreveport.

The book, written by Ray and illustrated by Santiago Germano, tells the story of a tiny mouse, Santi, who has big dreams to be a cat. His search for an identity, despite all odds, has a surprise ending.

In its whimsical surprise ending, Santi learns a valuable lesson about self-determination and also learns he is not the only dreamer in the animal kingdom.

“The Little Mouse Santi,” which sells for $15, is the first release from Confetti Park, a children’s media workshop in New Orleans. The book can be purchased Barnes & Noble, Amazon, and from Confetti Park directly at http://confettipark.com/books/
