Microsoft’s Windows 10, the last and final operating system from Windows, is on schedule for its worldwide release in July 2015. It was earlier estimated that the global release of the operating system will take place before the end of this year or maybe in late summer of 2015. However, clearing all the doubts and rumors, it has now been reported that the launch of Microsoft’s Windows 10 OS will take place in the month of July 2015.
The teams of developers and programmers at Microsoft are said to be in overdrive to get rid of all the bugs and technical glitches in the operating system before its release. Though a lot of work is still ongoing, Microsoft is expected to complete it on time, and meet the schedule for the launch. The teams are working on finalizing Windows 10 and tying up certain loose ends. The engineering team is getting a lot of help from the feedback received from people who have installed the free preview version of Windows 10.
Lisa Su, CEO, AMD, had revealed earlier that Microsoft was planning to release Windows 10 in July 2015. She had said this during an earnings call in the month of April. However, the executives at Microsoft have not confirmed or commented officially regarding the exact date of the launch. They have reiterated their previous statement that Windows 10 will be released in summer 2015. Guardian LV has learnt from its sources that are familiar with the company’s plans, that Microsoft had been intending to release Windows 10 in late July. The launch date was set as a target many months ago, and it is still on schedule for the same.
It have also been learnt that July 29, could be one of the dates that have been discussed as the target date for the launch. Reportedly, Microsoft is working on finalizing the code which is meant for releasing the OS for manufacturing, before the last week of June. At the April 29 meeting named Build, Microsoft had deliberated on declaring the release date of Windows 10. That would have allowed a period of three months before the actual final release of Microsoft’s Windows 10 OS, which is reportedly on schedule for a worldwide release in the end of July 2015.
However, the company was not in a position to commit to a set date that it may or may not be able to meet. Reports of a Russian leaker named WZor, had claimed earlier this week that the launch of Windows 10 is scheduled for the month of July 2015. Doubts are being raised about the launch date, and if Microsoft will have Windows 10 ready by eliminating the reported bugs before July.
Microsoft has shared details of different versions of Windows 10 that would be made available to customers based on their requirements. The company has also informed that Windows 10 will be a free upgrade to users of Windows 8.1, 8, and 7. The final version of the OS will be made available to the present Windows 10 testers before it is released to the public. Microsoft is presently nearing the code completion, while Windows 10 has been locked in a specific state. The programmers and engineers are not adding any new features or apps at the moment. They are continuously working on eliminating the bugs.
It has also been reported that there will be a negligible difference between the release of the operating system to OEMs for building new machines, and its availability to the users as an upgrade for downloading and installing Windows 10 themselves. This strategy is a marked change compared to releases of previous versions of Windows OS. Microsoft has made available various preview builds of Windows 10 immediately after they were internally compiled in an effort to refine the process of upgrading to Windows 10. This has been true for the entire development process of the operating system.
Once Windows 10 is released, the process of preview is bound to continue. This is a strategy that will help Microsoft, as the team of engineers will focus continuously on keeping the operating system secure, up-to-date, and add new features and apps. The company will release security patches and updates for Windows 10 at regular intervals in the future. Some inside information is that the company is presently working on a number of changes in features, and a stream of updates codenamed ‘Redstone’ that has been scheduled for 2016. Apart from this, features like the extension support in Microsoft Edge, will not be part of the July launch of Windows 10. It will be released later in the year. For now, Microsoft’s Windows 10 OS is reportedly on schedule for a worldwide release in the end of July 2015.

Not likely to be truly free. If this is really the final release of Windows and MS is going to a continuous”update to the latest version” model then it is likely that they will also be using a subscription model with an annual, or possibly quarterly or monthly, fee to keep the OS activated.
A subscription fee would be a really bad idea. Microsoft has confirmed that there would not be a subscription fee. I think they would monetize through apps, features, ‘services’, and extending the supported lifetime of the OS on the device. Thank you for your input. Appreciate it.
