Authy Introduces OneTouch Two-Factor Authentication and Authy for Apple Watch

New Two-Factor Authentication Push Service and Wearables Deliver 2FA Experience for the Everyday Consumer

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - May 19, 2015) - Today at Twilio's SIGNAL conference, Authy, a leading provider of mobile and Web access security solutions, announced two new products aimed at solving the growing security challenges facing corporations and individuals -- Authy OneTouch and Authy for Apple Watch. Authy OneTouch is a next generation strong authentication process that presents users with a simple push notification style request to approve logon access or a transaction. Authy for Apple Watch extends the iOS version of the Authy app to provide a convenient way to securely access protected applications from the Apple Watch. Authy OneTouch and Authy for Apple Watch are engineered to be enhancements of Authy's existing API and Soft Token (time-based, one-time password) products and can be used in combination to support any authentication or authorization requirement. "Breaches of password protected applications have increased 14x in the past five years. As a result, 2FA is increasingly being adopted as a best practice for cloud and mobile operations. Most importantly, consumers are demanding a more secure way to protect their accounts than passwords alone," said Marc Boroditsky, general manager of authentication solutions for Authy. "Our new products make multi-factor authentication easy for businesses to implement, and easy for consumers to use. These new generation 2FA advancements represent a large step forward toward the realization of our vision of making two-factor authentication available and accessible to all."

Authy OneTouch streamlines 2FA for users by making it a simple "yes" or "no" approval of a push notification initiated request on an authorized mobile device -- there are no one-time password codes for users to enter or manage. The product offers frictionless 2FA for consumers while providing a cryptographically secure authentication process. Based on public and private cryptographic key processes, Authy OneTouch provides non-repudiation and protects against phishing and man-in-the-middle attacks for any logon or event, such as changes in account settings, high-risk transactions or credit card purchases. As added security and for user convenience, Authy OneTouch presents a message about what is being authorized such as the transaction amount, logon location or a confirmation request for a particular action, which becomes a part of the digitally signed record of the transaction. Authy OneTouch beta is available today.

Authy for Apple Watch is a secure and convenient way for Authy users to login and transact securely within their accounts. The product extends the functionality of the Authy mobile and desktop apps to the Apple Watch so users can conveniently access time-based one-time passwords (TOTP) and Authy OneTouch requests on their wrists, meaning consumers can have the security of 2FA without even taking out their phone. Authy for Apple Watch is currently available for download.
